Swansea University student Jean-Louis Button decided to travel 10 thousand kilometers for the sake of stray animals. It was inspired by the cat Jess.

One day, Button woke up in his student room and found a stray cat there.

The man was sleeping with the door open, and suddenly he heard a purr.

The cat was in poor condition. The guy contacted the Cat Protection Service, whose employees were able to find the owners of Jess.

However, the previous owners could no longer keep the cat. Then Jean-Louis took her to his place for 7 or 8 weeks – then the guy went on a bike trip.

“To be honest, I really suffered from isolation and loneliness. I’ve been in a pretty dark place for quite some time.

Just being able to be with Jess meant the whole world to me,” says Button.

The guy decided to devote his bike ride to homeless animals and raise money for their needs. He plans to drive the coast of Great Britain and cover 10 thousand kilometers (6200 miles).

And for Jess they will find a new home, because, unfortunately, she cannot live in the student residence where Button lives.

Jess will move into her permanent home. She is quite old, about 18 years old.

“Just having her in one place and taking care of her is more than enough for me”, says Jean-Louis.
