Dolphins in Australia miss human interaction.
One of the dolphins even began to bring gifts to people to win their attention – shells, corals, bottles and other “treasures” from the seabed.
In Queensland, not far from Tin Can Bay, there is a café where seven dolphins swim.
According to volunteers, a dolphin named Mystique frequented the café with gifts. And if he rarely did it before, now he brings something with him almost every time.
The dolphin swims up with a variety of items that he takes out from the bottom of the sea.
The café owner now has a whole collection of such gifts.
Volunteers note that no one taught Mystique this trick. In their opinion, this is how the dolphin tries to show that he misses people.
The locals speculate that Mystique is simply trying to clear the water of debris.
Dolphin behavior expert Barry McGovern believes that dolphin behavior should not be interpreted one-sidedly, as these mammals have a very complex communication culture.
Perhaps he really yearns for people, but according to McGovern, most likely the dolphin is just trying to entertain himself or wants to return to his usual feeding routine.
