“I watched him and hey, I just fell in love with him,” Williams said.

Fluffy was more than company for Ron, the little cat understood him perfectly and they talked a lot.

“The phone was ringing and I was saying ‘ringing,'” Ron said. “And I didn’t know he would understand that.”
It seemed like nothing could disrupt their romance, but one day Ron, who turned 85 last September, slipped and fell in the shower. He got hurt and couldn’t move.

Ron lay helpless on the bathroom floor for an entire day
“My arm was stuck under me, and the hours just kept ticking by,” Ron said. “4 p.m….” Ron explained.

With no help in sight, Ron lay helpless on the bathroom floor. He couldn’t reach his Life Alert because he left it in the other room and the bathroom door was closed. To make matters worse, he also couldn’t reach his phone. It was on the counter but too far for him.

It certainly didn’t bode well for Ron, alone and hurt.

At the crucial moment, Ron’s four-legged friend came to the rescue, proving once and for all that cats can be heroes!
Almost overcome with despair, Ron suddenly thought of Fluffy, who was in the room next to the bathroom. He then recalled how he trained Fluffy to pick up the phone when he said “ring”.
