36-year-old resident of Phoenix Carlos Morales lost his wife Erica during childbirth from profuse blood loss. The woman became the mother of four healthy babies, which now the widower will have to raise alone.
When his wife gave birth, Carlos was at construction work outside the city.
“I was looking forward to the end of the shift, because I thought that this day would be the happiest in my life. It turned out that he became the most terrible,” said the man.
Arriving at the hospital to his wife, he found her room closed. The doctors told Carlos that Erica could not bear the birth.
“She was fine, but then something happened. She was gone literally in one moment. It was terrible. I couldn’t believe what happened,” said Carlos Morales.
A few minutes before passing, the woman gave birth to four twins: three girls and one boy. Little Paisley and Erica are still in the hospital, their father visits them daily.
Realizing that a builder’s salary would not be enough to raise four children, Carlos Morales launched an online campaign on the GoFundMe website.
For a month, the widower received more than 300 thousand dollars from compassionate Internet users. However, the man does not intend to hire a nanny for his kids.
“I have to learn everything from scratch – how to feed them, how to bathe them, when to put them to bed. It’s incredibly difficult, but I will do everything so that my children grow up healthy and wealthy,” said Carlos Morales.
