However, in an interview with Piers Morgan, which managed to become one of the most controversial last year, Cristiano spoke in detail about what he experienced.
“This is probably the hardest moment in my life since I said goodbye to my father,” admitted Ronaldo.
“When you have a child, the thought does not even appear in your head that something will go wrong. And when there is any problem, it is incredibly difficult,” Cristiano emphasized.
According to him, it was really difficult for him and Georgina Rodriguez to cope with what happened.
Talking to a journalist, telling all this, Ronaldo with great difficulty held back tears and chose words.
One of the most difficult aspects of grief for the footballer was the fact that he was given practically no time to recover.
“Football didn’t stop. We had a lot of competition at that moment,” the athlete explained.
He added that he keeps the ashes of his son Angel in the chapel at his home, next to those of his father. Cristiano claims to visit both of them often and talk to them.
“I know they are on my side. And, you know, they help me become a better person in every way. And especially they help me become a better person and a better father,” the football player shared his thoughts.
