We all know that it is love that pushes a person to heroic deeds. And it’s not just in Hollywood movies. Everyone can make a fairy tale come true, especially when it comes to their own children.
Shi Yuying, 76, from Guangxi Province, China, has been taking her grandson Jiang Haowen to school on a mountain trail every day for four years. That is 24 kilometers!
The boy cannot move independently. He has cerebral palsy and needs constant care. Shi said he was diagnosed at the age of two. Parents tried to treat him, but apart from huge debts, there were no results.
Now, his father works in another city, and his mother married another man when the baby was 4 years old. Therefore, his grandmother is always with him, who initially carried him on a bicycle, until in July 2017, local authorities donated a wheelchair to the family.
Every day, she takes him to school twice a day and picks him up.
Faith in her grandson, that’s what gives her strength. She is confident that despite everything, Haowen will be able to succeed, he is a smart boy. He is especially strong in mathematics and his memory amazes many.
However, every year it becomes more and more difficult for the grandmother to overcome this path to school and back. However, she is not ready to give up: “As long as I have the strength, I will push him forward!”
Shi sincerely believes and hopes that she can find a good school for the handicapped to send Haowen to. In the meantime, she does not lose hope and continues to fight alone for his future.
